Scratch & Peck - Organic Grower Mash

Naturally Free Grower is a Verified Non-GMO and Certified Organic product. We use a blend of Pacific Northwest grown whole grains from Certified Organic Farms throughout the region.   When your chicks reach 8 weeks of age, their growth rate will start to slow and they will be big enough to consume whole grains. This is the perfect time to begin transitioning your chickens to our Naturally Free Grower Feed. Don’t worry about any left over Naturally Free Starter; you can mix the two feeds together.   Naturally Free Grower feed contains a similar mixture of organic ingredients to the Starter feed but it contains less protein and the grains are left in their whole, natural state. We leave the grains whole because oxidation begins once a grain is cracked. Oxidation slowly diminishes nutritional value as the oil in the grain starts to turn rancid which shortens the shelf life and palatability of the grain.    

Feeding information: At 8 weeks you can begin to transition your growing birds to our Naturally Free Grower from their starter ration as they have developed to a point where they can handle the larger whole grains.   Be sure to continue offering Grit – we provide a Grower Grit which is the appropriate size for birds who are not yet full grown. You can continue to feed our Naturally Free Starter and combine with Grower if you still have some left. They should be large enough now to be outdoors and starting to get accustomed to sleeping in their coop.   Feel free to begin offering 3-Grain Scratch or Scratch n’ Corn by tossing around their run to promote foraging (scratching and pecking) or use as a training tool to come when they are called!

There is no protective lining on these bags only paper. The paper packaging is made with biodegradable ink so that the bags can be composted.
